Product Overview
What FlightStudio is
FlightStudio is a UAS Traffic Management (UTM) platform — software that lets drone operators plan and fly missions safely, lets aviation authorities supervise and authorize those missions, and keeps everyone aware of who is flying where, in real time. It combines FlightHub-grade operator experience for day-to-day operations with national-UTM governance: authority workflows, evidence, interoperability, and audit.
FlightStudio is vendor-neutral. It is not tied to a single drone manufacturer. Vehicles, docks, payloads, surveillance feeds, weather sources, and partner USS/USSP systems connect through adapters, so an operator can run a mixed fleet and an authority can supervise across vendors. Where a vendor dominates the market it is supported natively — most notably a bidirectional DJI FlightHub 2 integration (hosted and On-Premises/AIO ingest, DJI KMZ/WPML flight-plan interchange, and mission push) — without locking the platform to that vendor.
Who it's for
| Audience | What they get |
|---|---|
| Drone operators / enterprises | A map-first command center to plan missions, manage fleet and crews, request authorizations, monitor live flights and video, and keep compliant records. |
| Aviation authorities / regulators | An operations workbench to review and decide authorization requests, define jurisdictions and rules, issue emergency restrictions, and export evidence. |
| National / regional UTM providers (USS/USSP) | A platform that exchanges operational intents and airspace data with peers and common information services, with the governance and audit a national role demands. |
| Integrators & developers | Documented APIs, a Python SDK, an event mesh, and an adapter framework to extend the platform. |
The problem it solves
Drone operations at scale create three hard problems that consumer apps and single-vendor fleet tools do not solve:
- Shared-airspace safety. Many operators and aircraft share the same low airspace. FlightStudio provides strategic 4D deconfliction, geofencing, live traffic and Remote ID awareness, and conformance monitoring against the approved plan.
- Authority governance. Flights in controlled or regulated airspace need authorization, defensible decisions, and an evidence trail. FlightStudio provides authority workflows, jurisdiction/rule modeling, and a compliance evidence ledger.
- Interoperability. National UTM is a network, not an island. FlightStudio is built around recognized standards (ASTM, EASA U-space, EUROCAE, JARUS) so it can exchange data with peers and authorities rather than locking data in.
Value proposition
- One platform, plan to evidence. Plan → authorize → operate → monitor → handle breaches → close out → export evidence, in one system.
- Operator UX and national governance. Command-center polish for operators, plus the authority, jurisdiction, and audit capabilities a regulator needs.
- Standards-aligned and vendor-neutral. Built to interoperate, not to lock in. Mixed fleets and partner systems connect through adapters.
- Self-hostable and observable. Runs as containers you control, with metrics, traces, and SLO dashboards built in. Your operational and evidence data stays in your environment.

Maturity at a glance
FlightStudio is a broad, working platform at a demo-to-staging maturity. The major capability areas are implemented with real domain logic — not mockups — and the honest gaps to full production operation are in test depth, authorization hardening, and operational resilience (backups/DR, HA, alerting). Those gaps are tracked openly in the roadmap. Each capability below carries a maturity label so nothing is overstated.
